Final Poster

This is using the base copy of the test I tried and having the man in black at the font seemed to confuse some people of who the main character is. I have left two catch lines at the top to decide which one might suit the film more.

The Idea was changed to having the investigator in from instead of the villain to imply who is on top whilst leaving the villain a mystery. The characters are very bland as they are now it does not look professional enough. The title has changed from being just underneath to being upside down making the view look twice at it as some of the letters look the same both ways. 

shadows where added to the back of each character and a darker left side on the investigator to show where the light is pointing.

I situated the effect of having the blinds shadows over both the characters to show a greater skill of shadows, they are subtle but visible and also effective.

More shadows are added to the body of both but more can be seen on the investigator. The left half of the investigators body and face is slightly darker but the right side remains unchanged also the lower half is very dark to keep the text visible for the audience. 

More text will be added at the bottom and the catch line at the top will be more to the centre.

  

A few more company logos were added at the bottom to fill it out a bit more. 

This is the final image of the poster. Visually it looks good and the text that is added around the main image works well with the type of genre i'm going for.

This is hte second idea that i have for my poster. The villain is still in the front with their face hidden from in shadows to give a more ominous effect. Not all the text has been added in yet but the ones here are just place holders. 

A background that I am using at the moment is a one i found on google images as a place holder for something i want to try however, that idea might change with the development as trying to replicate something similar to this would prove to be difficult. My next task will be to make a different background and consider the position of both of the characters. 

This copy has a different background with some more shadows to emphasise some of the text and darken areas with too much light to make it blend together. Although this is close to finish the position of both the characters may look better if reversed and making a copy with them changed might make a better outcome.

The start of the film poster idea was having the villain at the front to give the impression that they are in ahead of them in the movie however, this may change as people may get confused with what i really meant. The lighting at the moment is looking too bright for both characters so the idea next would to ass darker layers to darken them down to a good level.

Both character now have been darkened down to a level where you can only just see the outlines of the person in the hood and the face of the investigator is visible as well to indicate a more mysterious film. The next task will to start adding text in key areas so improve the look of the poster.

The movie title wants to be more noticeable but not too bright to match the rest of the theme. Adding small text will be the next task to give a more authentic look.

This is what I have come up with thus far and from what i can tell it looks okay at best a fair bit needs to be changed such as the movie title wants to be more to the center and i need to pick a phrase for the top.
